Get A Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy
Four universities in Ohio are working together to offer a Masters degree program in renewable energies. The University of Dayton, Wright State University, Central State University and the Air Force Institute of Technology are cooperating to launch the two-year program, in which students can register for full-time or part-time studies. In addition to training more engineers, the schools declare that the program is intended to find solutions for clean and economical energy resources.
The program will work in the University of Dayton’s (UD’s) mechanical and aerospace engineering department and Wright State University’s mechanical and materials engineering department. The Air Force Institute of Technology and Central State University also will offer classes and instructors but will not have a program with degrees. Classes will focus on the growth of energy-efficient designs, renewable energy and finding suitable uses for solar energy, fuel cells and biofuels.
Meanwhile, the RES – the School for Renewable Energy Science, in Iceland, in collaboration with University of Iceland and University of Akureyri, offers a one-year masters program in renewable energy science and technology. Students can choose one of the five areas of study: geothermal, fuel cell systems and hydrogen or biofuels and bioenergy, hydropower and energy systems / policies. They intend to add wind and solar energy majors in the future.
Also, The European Renewable Energy Research Centres (EUREC) Agency, is offering a European Master in Renewable Energy degree to its students. The students can specialize in a chosen technology at a different university and finally, they complete a research project. The five areas offered by the European Master in Renewable Energy are bioenergy, hybrid systems, photovoltaics, energy conservation in buildings and wind energy.
Similar programs are also offered in the University of Dundee in Scottland, The University of Jyväskylä in Finland, The University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, and The University of Nottingham in England.
